Future of Technology Predictions

Many people wonder what the technology of the future will hold. If you were to take a look at the advances in technology over the past 100 years, it would be virtually impossible to imagine what future technologies may be capable of.
future technology predictionsIt has been predicted that preventative medicine in the next few years will begin in the womb with gene therapy. Organ replacement and repair of broken DNA is expected to be a common occurrence.
Perhaps the greatest technological advances will come in the way of manipulating matter at the atomic scale, combining elements to build custom molecules that will provide the world with new materials and medicines.
Thinking of terms of movie lovers, miniature machines and power plants that future technology explained possess the abilities of reproduction may be in the far away future.
With the current technological developments in vehicles, it is not impossible to imagine a much better transportation system that includes cost efficient as well as non-polluting vehicles.
Communication will definitely take a front seat as everything will likely be wireless and synthesized 3D viewers will allow individuals to view family and friends and conduct business with people who are not really there but will still seem to be.
Implantable devices to aid individuals with illness or disabilities are also not so unforeseen. Right now there are millions of medical devices that are implanted into humans each year. The invention of the heart replacement was something that saw a lot of scrutiny and skepticism in its day but now it is nearly a commonplace occurrence.
Blood vessels, hips, eyes and heart valves are all common implants that people receive every year. These devices were designed to improve and extend human life.
Given the technological advances in the medical field to date it is not impossible to imagine even more medical implants in the future that could possible extend the life of those who today may not have a chance of living.
Prosthetic limbs are widespread today. Years ago someone with an amputated limb would simply have lived with one less appendage. Given this fact the future could possibly bring about an even greater success in limb replacement such as limbs that heal into the skin or nerves to go along with the limb.
Artificial livers or pancreas could be in the foreseeable future as well. These devices could greatly help in extending life and providing a better quality of life to those who may need them.
And of course there is the prediction of a possible way to analyze, store and retrieve personal information about an individual’s life history. Bran Ferren of Walt Disney Imagineering recently concluded that an early internet connection implant could be seen in the next 25 years.
This will allow people to understand any language, solve any equation, keep updated on news and weather and even communicate with others all within their own bodies.
These are, of course, merely predictions. Remember however that Frank Lloyd Wright once predicted that he would fly and no one believed him. It is not completely unimaginable that some of these things could possibly be implemented in the foreseeable future.
If a man can learn to fly then he can quite possibly learn virtually anything else and in doing so could take the world with him when he does.
